1st June 2008

The Cambridgeshire County Show Committee would like to thank the general public, guests, exhibitors and sponsors for their support of the 2008 Show and look forward to welcoming you all in 2009.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2008, this is a small but very traditional show, with its roots firmly in agriculture and the rural community. It is organised by local Young Farmers and their supporters and is to be held at Wimpole Home Farm (the National Trust property) , Wimpole, Arrington, near Royston, SG8 0BW on Sunday, 1st June 2008, 10am - 5pm.
The Show has four main aims...
1. To create a traditional CountyShow, how they used to be
2. To promote British Food and Farming
3. To provide the local Young Farmers with a display area for their annual competitions and
4. To create a real family day out, with something for everyone.
The 2008 Show will be the tenth to be held at Wimpole and features will include traditional crafts, livestock, food hall, rural crafts and displays, vintage tractors, fairground, children's corner and ring events plus much more.
There will be a great variety of trade stands, from country clothing, agricultural dealers, garden equipment and furniture, plants and shrubs, to wrought iron work and activity toys. The show works hard to attract different trade stands to appeal to all ages and mixed interests.
The ring events have a varied programme to keep you all entertained. These include sheep dog handling, heavy horses, gundogs, terrier racing (please bring your dogs, any breeds, if you would like to) and a variety of hilarious Young Farmer competitions.
The food hall is a must to visit with many items of local produce on sale to set your taste buds tingling and if this isn't enough, then visit Michael Beaumont's traditional hog roast and barbecue for a lunch to remember.
The Young Farmers competition entries, from metalwork to cookery and flower arranging, will also be on display - a chance for you to see how talented these young people are.
Gates open at 10.00am and the Show is signposted off the A603 - we look forward to seeing you.
